    The EPS pearls make the dog bed very comfortable. The heat insulating effect provides good support to your dog's muscles. This is important because your dog's muscles and joints are used with great regularity. To prevent injuries in your dog, it is therefore important that the muscles and joints can rest well. With the EPS beads in dog beds from DogsCompanion.com, you can be sure that this is the case.

    What is EPS pearl filling?

    DogsCompanion.com uses EPS pearl filling. All of our indoor dog beds contain EPS pearls. EPS pearls are made from grains of expandable polystyrene. This consists mainly of hydrogen and carbon. These components are particularly environmentally friendly and not harmful to health. The final mass of the polystyrene is barely 2%. The remaining 98% is stagnant air.

    The size of the EPS beads is between 2 and 4 mm.

    DogsCompanion.com buys the EPS as pearls in the Netherlands, the raw materials for the EPS pearls also come from the Netherlands.

    What do you use EPS refill for?

    The inner beds of DogsCompanion.com are filled with EPS pearl filling. Over time, the filling may have shrunk a bit. The filling shrinks because the dog uses the dog bed intensively. You can refill the Dog's Companion dog bed with this EPS refill. You do not need to replace the EPS beads. You can add the EPS bead filling to the inner bed, which is more durable!

    Tip
    To fill the inner bed, it is nice to do this in pairs, and preferably indoors. You first remove the outer cover from the dog bed. Then place the inner bed on the floor so that the zipper of the inner bed is at the top. First, shake the balls down as much as possible before opening the zipper. Open the zipper. Next, pour some stuffing from the plastic bag into the inner bed. Do this just like you would pour water. Above all, try not to rush it and it should be fine!

    This way you can fill the inner bed accurately and any spilled pellets won't end up in nature. The few beads you might spill can then be easily vacuumed up with the vacuum cleaner.

    What is the difference with the material of cheap dog beds?

    The pellets often used in action beanbags and cheap dog beds are made of recycled material (derived from Styrofoam). These pellets come from recycling; the pellets are angular, contain a lot of dust and provide much limited comfort and longevity.

    Can you recycle EPS bead filling?

    EPS filling is 100% recyclable! In the Netherlands, recycling centers have a separate EPS recycling station. For other countries, we recommend that you first contact your local authority to find out where you can recycle EPS materials.
